spring is in the air

I am seriously so behind on blogging!  Life happens and I just can't catch up!  I love blogging and it's my favorite hobby, but this is a hard time of year with school getting out next week and having so much to get done!  I'm going to try to update every couple of days this week so I can get caught up!  That's my goal, we'll see if it happens!  Ha!
This post will be a catch up from some things we've done this spring!  I had been wanting to take Kerigan to see the new Cinderella so one weekend when daddy was busy, my mom and I took the kids.
She loved her new Cinderella dress!
Andrew had to come because daddy was busy and it just worked out that he was with us and this is a pretty good description of how they both felt about the movie!  Ha!  I actually think he secretly liked it but he wouldn't admit it!
My big dance recital post will be coming up, but this cracked me up.  I had to go shopping early for the supplies because evidently everything sells out fast around dance recital time!  They had pictures coming up so I purchased the good old aqua net and a new version of dippity doo (aka, hair gel from the 80's!).  I was totally reliving my youth when I made these purchases.  I loved it!  Ha!
Her sweet little class lining up for their dance pictures
Here they are with their teacher Miss Kimmy- we love her!  She is so good with the kids.

These girls are two of Kerigan's best friends Lily and Annika.  We are so happy they have been in day care, dance and preschool together since we moved here.  She is so lucky to have such good friends!
These two were so helpful at the store buying groceries for some family we were having over.  Don't let them fool you- they lasted about 5 minutes before I got mad and put Kerigan in my cart and left her cart sitting in the middle of the store!  I could only handle so much of them bumping into each other, fighting about who was going to drive "first," etc.  Oh the joys of siblings, right?
So Craig rescued the cart- Ha!  He can usually add humor to stressful situations!  Normally we don't do family trips to the store, but it just worked out that way this day.
My aunt, uncle and cousins came and visited for a BBQ!  We were so excited because we hadn't seen them in a long time!
The kids were so cute all of them squished at this tiny picnic table!  Ha!  My kids were in heaven to have big cousins around!
We wished they lived closer so they could all be babysitters!
Us adults sat on the deck and visited the whole afternoon and didn't have to get up once or settle an argument or anything!  We talked about how unbelieveable that was!
Kolton was pushing Andrew around in this baby car!  He was loving it!  Ha!

Kelsie and Kendra took Kerigan upstairs and did her hair and got her all dressed up!  She kept coming down in different dresses and hairstyles!  So cute!  I used to dress these girls up and play with them when they were her age!  We loved having them over and know we will see them more this summer at the lake!
One afternoon Andrew came home from school with sunflower seeds he was dying to plant so we picked a spot by our fence.
He was so into this!  Must have something to do with little boys and digging in dirt!

He was so proud!  Who knows if they will grow??  But he's been checking on them daily and wondering why they don't just pop right up!
We have had our share of rain the last month or so.  I loved this picture of Kerigan sitting by the big windows and watching it rain.  She loves to play here and sit on the windowsill.

It's also Belle's favorite place to sit!
I changed out the kids closets for spring a couple weeks ago and Belle was being such a big help!  Ha!  She likes to be right where everyone is and in the middle of whatever project we are doing.
She is the sweetest kitty and we all just love her!  Well, except for maybe Craig!  But I think she's even growing on him a little bit!
The other night we made french bread pizza and ate it on the deck!
We've been having a lot of meals on the deck these days, when it hasn't been raining the weather has been gorgeous and perfect!
Another night I put chicken, salsa and taco seasoning in the crock pot all day when I was at work and when I got home we just shredded it up and put it on tortillas and it made perfect tacos!  And we ate it on the deck.  Of course!
This sweet girl's favorite thing in the world is fruit, I swear she could live on it.  One day at the grocery store I discovered I could buy a huge cup at the salad bar and fill it with fruit for $2!  Keeps her busy while I'm trying to get the shopping done!
This is one of her favorite things to do.  She loves her princesses and castle and she will line them all up and "read" to them all the time.  She has such an imagination and I love listening to her play!
She is so funny, she loves this Sofia the First sweatshirt but she will only wear it with the hood up so the crown shows on her head!  Ha!
A rare sweet moment getting in the car!
A couple weekends ago our town had a fun kids fest at the YMCA.  This was Kerigan's first time she's had her face painted!
She chose a rainbow and she was so proud!
We met her friend Payton there and they had a blast playing!
They had fun games and bounce houses, etc.  The kids loved it!
After the carnival, Payton's mommy and I had a little too much fun at the new Hobby Lobby!  Ha!  We shared a cart but decided next time we would each need our own! (And most of what I bought was stuff for my little mermaid's birthday party in a couple months!) It's so fun having Hobby Lobby in town!
With the nice weather comes the opening of Ev's, our favorite ice cream place in town!
We went there for the first time this season and it was still a little cool so we had to cover up with a blanket from the car!  Ha!  But we know Ev's opening means summer is coming!  And we cannot wait!

hopping down the bunny trail

(I realize it's Memorial Day, but I'm just that behind!  And sticking with my goal of an update every couple of days... I had to post today!  I'm sure I'll be posting pictures from today in another month!  Ha!)
So, backing up to Easter!  The kids and I wanted to try the recipe for bunny bait from Pinterest, and oh my gosh.
So delicious and better yet, so simple!  I melted the white chocolate chips instead of almond bark and I think that gave it an even better flavor.
Then we had bunny bait and watched Hop.  Perfect for Easter weekend, right?
Love these sweet kids!
The EB surprised the kids and came a day early because he knew we were going to Grandma's!  They were so excited when they woke up and saw that he had left them a scavenger hunt to find their baskets!
The clues were inside eggs that were hidden all around the house.  They had a blast!
Kerigan took the clue out and Andrew read them and they both figured out where to race to next!
This would have been super fun for mommy and daddy to watch too if it hadn't been 6am when they woke up!  Ha!  I was so tired and barely keeping up with them!  Craig gave up and dozed on the couch until the end of it!  Ha!
Clues in their shoe bins!
Even in the van!

This was a typical reaction- ha!  Andrew grabbing the egg and Kerigan reaching for it!
I was a bit delirious at this time of the morning, so I didn't even get a picture of their baskets!  They were in our walk in closet.  Ignore the unmade bed, we had literally just rolled out of it!  Ha!
This was one of her gifts- she loves to match her bitty baby!

After opening baskets we headed off to Grandma and Grandpa Huegel's farm!
Stopped at Subway for lunch- love this toothless grin!
The first thing they always want to do is play on Grandpa's rock pile!
Andrew on the tractor with his cousin Kennedy
My sweet girl- she was all girly and dressed up with her hair in sweet curls, yet she can throw on her old jeans and get dirty with the best of them!
A hug for Grandpa!
Great Grandma came to see the kids dye eggs and have dinner with us.  She is the sweetest lady!
The cousins had fun dyeing eggs together!

And playing with daddy in the basement!
They love to hide behind the wall and have wars with the dads/uncles.  Usually they have nerf guns, sometimes they just invent things.
They always have a blast!
My sweet kids before church on Easter Sunday at Grandpa and Grandmas.
She was so precious sitting in the pew with her hymnal!
After church!  Ready for an egg hunt!
Here are the cousins that could make it this weekend.  We were missing Abby and Evelyn and Jayden!  But no matter who is there, the kids always have fun and know they will have at least some cousins to play with!
Racing off for their egg hunt!
Checking out her stash!
Grandparents & some of their grandkids!
On the way home from the farm, we always stop at Ga Ga and Papa's!  They had more treats for them!  Our kids are so spoiled by their grandparents!
He was so excited about his new Skylanders!
Their stash from Ga Ga and Papa!
Easter selfie!
Papa grilled burgers and brats for us for the first time this season- it was such a beautiful day!
Happy Easter!  So blessed by my little family!
